Hi! I moved to a new place. I would love for you to visit me there.

Clarity Series Or Questions To Crack Open Your Reality-Episode 2

Clarity Series…We are opening our Daring Clarity journals today to reveal another slice of our core, our essence…one question at a time. The questions are meant to be ANSWERED. I know, right?

I’ll stick with Sunday for now for our Clarity Series.

And today’s question I have for you is:

What are the places in the world where you feel the most aligned with who you are?

It might be one place or three or five. What are they?

And of course the next and the most important question is:

Why?

Remember, “why” is much more important than “what” to understand your Authentic Self.

And, of course, personal example.

Places that came to mind first when I asked myself this question were cathedrals, bookstores, small cafes in Paris and in front of a fireplace.

Why?

Cathedrals – sacredness, mystery, timeless, grand

Bookstores – wisdom, coziness, meaning

Cafes in Paris. Paris – my Love. Special energy in the air. Love. Magic. Intimacy. Sophistication. Style. Creativity. Freedom.

I think it is a very  introverted city with lots of depth and meaning and cafes there are just a perfect representation of it’s nature.

Fireplace – fire, passion

What are your places? Why? What do you see in them?

To live your Truth, you have to know the Truth. Start answering the questions and you’ll be so much closer to knowing your Truth.

It will empower you. It will set YOU free.

Hi Lana,
For me, that is very much being out in nature. That could be a hike in the woods, or a run through the neighborhood, or just wandering around our backyard. When I am, and when I really feel a connection to our earth , there is a deep sense of peace. I reach this place where I see nature as “right”. As in – there is a season for everything. And being in that moment – and really experiencing that season – and having it connect to my own life – is definitely a moment of clarity and purpose….

Very thought-provoking question Lana – thank you!

Now this is a very interesting question… The places I think I am most at peace are the following:

On the basketball court – sense of team and working with others while feeling at peace playing a game I love.

In front of my computer – I feel this is the closest I can come to giving birth. This is where I create my dreams and ideas 🙂

In discussion with like minded individuals – whether in person or on the web, I feel a sense of peace and progression when I am engaged in discussion with individuals who are like minded.

Love your ideas as always Lana, perhaps I can come up with a few more even than this after thinking about it more 🙂

My answer to this comes in a few parts, or at least that is how I’d like to present it:

There are a few people’s homes within this city that are places that align with me in that I feel very comfortable there. They are the places where I feel I can be myself and this is completely acceptable for me to just be me and not some variation of myself. Ever have that place that just felt so nice and good that it leaves you almost instantly relaxed? Those places where even if there is a spilled drink or other accident, the reaction is, “That’s ok! Don’t worry about it,” that just makes you go, “Phew!” Where there isn’t the fear of, “Oh, what if I have to use the bathroom?” or “What if I do this?”

Next would be those places I frequent that are almost home-like, like restaurants where I can say, “I’ll have my usual,” and they know what that is or in some cases I can just nod to them asking me if I’m still having what I usually have. Being known in that way appeals to me and makes me feel good in places where I habitually go. Movie theaters almost were like this to me when I used to go every week for a period of about 7 years or so.

My office also aligns with me as it has that home feel of I’m made it mine and I can be myself there too. It is my space that I’ve personalized just the way I want.

Last would be those wild-card situations which would include bookstores and libraries as I like to be surrounded by knowledge and options for what to read should I get that itch. I also enjoy electronic stores like Best Buy at times to see what is currently being sold these days though I try to do that sparingly. A park can also be a place aligned with me in that I can have some fun and relax at such a place.

Comfort, acceptance, home, knowledge, progress, peace – did I get those right, JB? I am looking for your keywords:)

Reply

JB King April 11, 2010 at 11:06 pm

Vulnerable would be another term I’d use to describe those places, at least in the first few sets. Home while a great keyword, hides a lot of meaning in my interpretation of the word as there is something to be said for how that aligns with both the heart and head and really does have an effect on oneself when one is there. I think if you ask someone what they mean by home, it can be quite illuminating the variations in answers to my mind.

I think I’d swap awareness for progress as my trips to Best Buy are how I keep track of what is really going n in the world. Not that I’m paranoid about the media but there is a difference between what I find on some site and what I place in my hand to my mind. Just to offer a couple of minor corrections though these are more of a personal connection view to these places rather than how one would describe such a place.

Yep, let’s crack it open:)
The places I am most in alignment:
My boat–my place of comfort, my home, my essence, all of me is in it. Represents my entire journey. My self. It’s taken a few years to feel this way…
Anyplace with my children– I love being their mom. My heart sings when we are together. Whether that is doing homework and chores or being out in the world.
The beach, ocean, hills, hiking trails, hot springs–I love to be in nature. It’s where I find God and am quiet enough to enjoy the connection of just being.
Under the stars, under the moon, watching the sunrise or sunset. Symbolizes so much to me in the spiritual, natural realm.
In the kitchen–I love cooking, I absolutely love cooking for others. My food is healing, comforting, joy inducing and I love creating for those reactions.
Folded into a genuine bear hug from a friend or loved one, or the recipient of a smile that lights up your eyes…sharing pure joy, from the heart…nothing better than that:)

Ah, and I see these places are where I should be as well as those that I should be most open to allow for unfolding in. *That* would be excellent alignment.

Joy, yes, lets’ crack it open – Spirit, freedom, family, connection, peace, presence, spirituality, creation, healing, joy (of course!), sharing and love, lots of, lots of LOVE. Yep, that’s YOU.

My most sacred and spiritual place is the beach. The magnificence of nature, freedom, space, and strong but at the same time soft movement of waves always brings the feeling of peace, balance and awe into my life. If something is troubling me then this is definitely a place to go. If I am happy, then this is a place to celebrate. If I want a great family day, then beach is definitely my #1choice. And if i want the most romantic date with my husband then nothing can bit the night at the beach for me.
I am so glad that finally I live just 10 minutes from the ocean. My life-time dream finally came true!

Hey Lana,

For me, I’d say the two places that resonate the strongest with me are both bookstores and my front porch:

Bookstores for many of the reasons you just described above… they represent a gateway into the world of knowledge from any angle that you see fit. You can literally pick up a book on ANY subject and dive right in; creating an experience that’s both blissful and mentally engaging as well.

My front porch because… that’s my favorite spot to sit out with good friends on a nice night and just enjoy the good company. I’ve literally spend hundreds of nights out there, and I know that whenever I invite friends over to hang out, it’s always guaranteed to be a good time!

Great question Lana,

For me it’s Church, Home, and School.
Church shows me my true relationship with God. Home shows me who I am when no one is looking, (which is often times who you really are… when no one is looking) and school shows me who I am in Social aspects of life.

Thanks for such a rich topic!!

Hi Lana,
For me, it’s not so much the places as the people – I’m most aligned with who I am when I’m with my husband, my children, the rest of my family, and my dear friends. But, there are definitely places where, if I’m there with my favourite people, I feel completely me – my home, the water, a cosy coffee shop. It’s humbling to re-read this and realise just how lucky I am!
Great question, thanks.

Hi Beautiful Lana,

Mine is 3 places I can think of now..
1.) Bishop California- I believe this place is God’s fingertips. Hotsprings, waterfalls, lakes (3 lakes) and acres and acres of nature. Too much to do here and everytime I go there. My heart is fully rested.
2.) Just like you I love the city. NYC– even with hustle and bustle I can appreciate the city. The fastpace to me triggers aliveness and energy. I can definitely appreciate the subway, cafes, pizza parlor in every corner, and just walking for hours gives me peace.
3.) The Beach–I have been in Hawaii beaches, California Beaches, Florida beaches, Bahamas…I don’t care where I am. I feel the vastness and beauty of the ocean. It reminds me that no dreams are too small nor too big. The ocean gives me faith…..

Also, being with my husband and son is magical. we can be home, park, beach, hiking, etc.. Something about their presence gives me LIFE.

Thank You for this post Lana. I am enjoying them 😉

Hi Lana, I think I feel aligned most of the time. So, it’s actually easier for me to identify those places where I notice that I feel out of alignment. I live in the woods and spend much of my life in a peaceful environment. Alignment is easy for me in this setting. However, when I go to a city with lots of traffic, noise, and crowds I feel it rather quickly. I knew intuitively from a young age that I needed breathing room and nature around me to feel centered. It’s been working for the last 37 years.

I feel the most “me” and at home sitting on my porch at the lake, or the dock, or walking in the woods. OR a library or bookshop and/or my art studio. I like this post – it made me think about this in terms of who I am!
Thanks!

Lana, we are kindred souls. I LOVE Paris–the cafes, the architecture, the bridges. The culture, the sophistication. I also love bookstores for the ambiance and the beach for the tranquility. I’ve lived in Europe, so I also appreciate the mystery and grandeur of cathedrals. In all of these places, I sense possibility and freedom, which for me, equal bliss. Thanks for the great post!
