Just to realize that others out there have conquered their fears, thus offering tools on how to, is completely liberating. You see, I've been struggling with a condition/ phobia called Allodoxaphobia: A fear of people's opinions of me. I know very well that my fear is irrational but it has this huge grip on me. Thank you all for sharing with me your experiences, because it has some how given me the courage to face my fear - one day at a time. It is awesome to read and only to realize that you are actually not the only person on earth going through this problem. If one considers their "self" important, it is most often the ego thinking and qualifying or quantifying value. It's true that, in ten years, what you did today to liberate yourself as wild, fancy, humbling or embarrassing as it may've been, won't be remembered. It won't be held against you. I agree, it's like the pain you easily forget, once you peer into the face of a child or once you were granted your youthful life back after a pregnancy "scare" or "accident". What's most valuable right now is the moment that we have to give birth to our truest, deepest most powerful selves and who others see, visually, is not "important nor is it-- "who you are". Your sense of BEING is all that is important... Its true. I believe that its a great relief and its a great gift. This is how we can start new things again. I personally try not to go into memory beyond last five year (unless essential to carry out day today work) and find that the life is more intresting.
