Hi! I moved to a new place. I would love for you to visit me there.

Clarity Series (in video format this time) – Episode #3

I decided to do a video for the Clarity series this week.  This is actually my first time doing a video in quite awhile, so bear with me, guys. I am a quick learner, I’ll get better really soon.

The video is 5.56 min long. I know, long. In fact very long for the attention span most of us have online these days. Again, bear with me, future ones are going to be sweet and short.

Anyway, enjoy. I ask a very important question in this video and as always give a personal example to help you in answering it.

Remember, asking the Right Questions can change your life. Lets’ start asking.

Should I speak louder? Can you understand what I am saying? Comments and feedback are very welcome!

The questions I ask in case you didn’t understand  –

If money/time were not an object, what would you like to revolutionize in the area of your vocation? What would your Ideal Vision be if there were no limitation of what you could do? What would you like to change?

Hi Lana, great video. The quality of the video is great, the content of the video is great and your voice, timbre, accent and English is perfect the way it is. I think you should do more videos as part of your blog.

I can really see your true passion coming out when you are speaking about the questions in life and clarity and you really show you care and that you want other people to get this.

Well done Lana.

Thanks Steven, your feedback as someone who’s been doing videos for quite awhile now is very important to me.

Lance April 18, 2010 at 10:46 am

Hi Lana,
It’s great to hear your voice!!

And I love the concept of this question – what is my vocational vision- and the clarity that can come from really digging into this. I’ll spend some time with this and let the clarity of doing this help to guide me forward!

Thanks Lance, yes, definitely think about it!

Joy April 18, 2010 at 3:31 pm

Your passion shines through–I’m so glad you share through video:) And your voice is lovely:)
As you say love *does* move us. Acknowledging this love that flows through me–my heart whisper–is what guides me through life. This area of vocation is exactly my own area of opportunity. I’ve yet to release what I cling to (my current job with its benefits) to move toward what I know I should be doing. So, in my spare time I do what my heart asks–share and touch lives using the gifts I have–and I am now letting that grow so it naturally is what my life will be at all times. Baby steps, which is odd for me, because I’m a “jumper” by nature….
Thank *you* for sharing as candidly as you do, it allows me to look as candidly at my own life.

Joy, I am a jumper by nature too and you are right, it takes time for us to get used to baby steps.

Lauren April 18, 2010 at 3:32 pm

Hi Lana,

You present very well on the video – well done!

I love the question regarding our vocational vision and I have been posing this to myself recently – so your post is timely for me as well! 😉

Blogging is my passion and my future career and I’m noticing it is a full-time venture for me. It’s just that I have another full-time job (which I love too) and a part-time job as well.

While it may sound like it, I am NOT a Type A and love time for relaxation. Beginning a new adventure, though, sometimes requires an incredible expenditure of energy and time.

I’m thrilled, though, and PASSION is my driving force. That and the fact that I have met so many wonderful people on-line through this process such as yourself. That has been the unexpected “icing on the cake” and it is the greatest icing!

I shall be considering this question even more deeply as a result of your prompting me in this direction. Thank you!

Lauren, it does require lots of time and energy and I think you are doing fantastic!

Keith Davis April 18, 2010 at 3:33 pm

Hi Lana
How brave are you, a video for the first time, would scare me to death.
No points to improve from me, I’m going to say congratulations on a fantastic first attempt.
Maybe a few comments next time.

How many of us dare do what you’ve done?

Hi Lana, this was great. You come across really well on video. It’s a small thing, but maybe a little light on your right side. Your getting some shadow from your nose and the neckline of your blouse. Other than that it’s perfect.

Lana April 18, 2010 at 5:35 pm

Thank you Jonathan for the feedback, I am still playing with it, we’ll see how I can improve next time!

Jonathan - Advanced Life Skills April 19, 2010 at 3:09 am

Like I said, it was a small thing Lana. I am in the same learning process with video, so I’ve been focused on lighting lately. That’s the only reason I even noticed. I figure we can all share what we learn and help each other with these new aspects of blogging. Actually, Steve Aitchison has been helping me with videos a lot lately. He’s really getting the whole video thing down nicely.

I totally agree Jonathan, learning together is much better and I appreciate your feedback. I know, Steve is a pro:) I’ve been learning a lot from him too.

JB King April 18, 2010 at 4:08 pm

Lana, I could hear you just fine and it is interesting to add how you talk to how I know you. You seem to have a lot of confidence and know what you want to say which makes for a great video. I look forward to the next one.

As for your question, I think I’d like to cut out the non-productive parts of my job. There are times where I feel like I’m running in circles in my job as someone may want something one way then another and then back to the original that frustrates me. Course I am the kind of person that likes things to be straightforward and simple most of the time, so if I feel like I’m wasting my time over complicating something this hurts me emotionally and makes me feel worth less than I did before starting the task. There are other times where it just seems like I’m trying to avoid the land mines in my job that isn’t exactly a pleasant experience if you can imagine. Any mine is simply that situation where either I’d be hearing someone yelling at me, someone is disappointed in my team or someone is unhappy that something isn’t done but if we don’t know what to do, how is it supposed to be done already? Those are what I’d like to change as most of the rest of the time, I enjoy what I do quite a bit. I have those moments where I’m called to fix something right away and be a hero, which is cool. Thankfully that isn’t all I do as that could get somewhat stressful to always have to be ready and prepared for crises.

I’ve had more than a few different ideas of what my dream job would be. At one time I wanted to be a consultant that comes in for a project and then moves on to the next problem to solve. At times I still want that situation where I’m not drowning in knowing all the problems of where I am so it still has some appeal to me. Another thought was to be part of a research think-tank, those people who are paid to analyse various questions and give ideas for solutions to them. I think I’d be pretty good at this but have no idea how I’d get such a position. Another thought I had was to go live with the dolphins down in Australia off of Monkey Mia and just soak up nature but that was before my Math/Computer phase of course.

Lana April 18, 2010 at 5:43 pm

I think you are getting very clear JB on what you want. Finding solutions definitely seems to be your thing. I think when you get truly clear and commit to that vision. (just commit, not get attached) life will start sending you ideas of “hows”.

Marina April 18, 2010 at 6:46 pm

Lana April 18, 2010 at 6:53 pm

Спасибо, дорогая моя:) Твоя поддержка очень много значит!

suzen April 18, 2010 at 9:43 pm

Hi Lana! Oh I so enjoyed the video! It’s great to have you RIGHT here speaking directly to me! Wonderful job! It’s more inspiring to hear someone inspire you than to read the words! Do more of these! 🙂

Now, the word “revolutionize” really lit a fire in my ideas! It kicks everything up a notch or two – and I’m really excited about that. Thank you for that – what a gift! I will be journaling in my notebook about this – thank you, thank you!

Lana April 18, 2010 at 11:39 pm

yes, suzen, I know, this word makes huge difference in how we look at things.

Greg Blencoe April 18, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Hi Lana,

I thought you did a really, really good job with the video. It’s great to get even more of a connection with the person doing the writing on a blog. Videos make that happen.

I could understand you very well. And I actually think the length of the video was just fine. You kept my attention the entire time.

Also, this post and your blog in general is a great reminder for me to continually focus on exactly what I want. I find that this is often the most difficult part. I don’t think most people have trained themselves to have clarity. But it definitely can become a habit.

Keep up the excellent work and I look forward to more videos!

Lana April 18, 2010 at 11:40 pm

Thanks Greg, and you are right we are not trained to be clear and stay clear, but we can still learn it.

Nichole April 18, 2010 at 11:44 pm

You are so pretty! And I love your accent (I’ve always wanted to learn to speak Russian)! You come across marvelously on video–very genuine, sincere–authentic. Your energy is calming, and your passion for what you do shines through.

Also, I love the question, “What would you like to revolutionize?” Revolution is such a powerful word, one which frightens many and makes many more feel threatened. I equate revolution with freedom, empowerment, and choice. Thank you for this terrific video and powerful, necessary question.

Lana April 19, 2010 at 4:15 am

Nichole, thank you so much. I LOVE that word too!

Marina April 19, 2010 at 1:38 pm

Dear Lana,
From the minute I entered daringclarity.com, I got hooked. First, you welcomed me with your contageously happy smile. And as I was reading about you, I realise I could not have enough. I’ve previosly come accross many different workshops, read and heard many different articals, and people on the subject. I will say, that nobody sounded so passionate and so Clear to me as you did. By the time I finished reading, I was on fire, I couln’t stop talking to people about you. I was fascinated by your wisdom in your young age, courage, sencerity and honesty. I was clear on one thing, I want to be like Lana! I want to be free and comfortable in my own skin and I have to be confident and have courage of my conviction! I am still working on it, but I am confident, that now I am blessed to know you to help me with that.
Your video is a treat! Well done! Great idea! If you don’t mind, I feel that you are too close to the camera. The concentration goes more on your face than on what you are saying. Maybe, it will be better if you sit a little bit further away, like behind the desk, or on the couch. It is just asuggestion. Think about it. Your English is fantastic. Hardly any accent. You are a quick learner. Thank you, for being you!

Lana April 19, 2010 at 1:58 pm

oooh, Marina, thank you so much! You really made my day today:) I am still working on a LOT of things too, trust me:) I am so happy I could inspire you. Thanks for your feedback, I’ll definitely try standing further away from the camera next time.

Anastasiya April 19, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Hi Lana,
I probably won’t say anything new to you if I say that your video was great! I really enjoyed the message and the presentation.
I didn’t know the fact that 95% of population on Earth are not clear about their lives and your goal of changing this stats even by 1 % is very bold already. You have a great vision and a lot of courage and strength to bring your vision into reality. I am sure that your vocation is exactly what you are meant to do because you are absolutely great at it!
Your experience and your goals are very inspiring and I’ll keep working on my goals to bring them into reality too. I can’t wait for the next video!

Phil - Less Ordinary Living April 20, 2010 at 1:23 pm

Hi Lana –

Very good video – clear and easy to understand – great pacing. It was so nice to see you authentically speaking!

If money and time were no object, what would I do? Good question as I love my work as a coach. If I had more time, I’d spend it figuring out how to teach self-development and self-respect to young people – that is part of my long term vision, so would accelerate that.

Congratulations on a great start!

Thank you, Lana! I appreciate the wisdom in your post very much.
Some people inspire me and they don’t even know it – when I can I tell them so.
I found the following quote inspiring:
Far away in the sunshine are my highest inspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead. – Louisa May Alcott
Love and light to you,
