Green and Mean Super Smoothie Recipe. To Help You With Clarity, Of Course.

This is day 16 of my 30-day writing challenge. I write every day to gain clarity. To rediscover my voice. To inspire. And bring value. I don’t edit so pardon my mistakes. Thanks for reading.

Lots of people ask me what our family eats. Some think we are total freaks for being vegetarians, not eating diary and gluten, buying mostly organic and local when possible, and the list goes on. Some probably think we are still so far from being…you know, perfect. I agree with the later. Perfection for me is someone like David Wolfe. But I came a long way.

I’ve been interested in healthy eating since I was very young. I remember I always made sure I ate my apple a day and took vitamin C as a teenager. But it’s not until I had my own kids that I truly decided to figure this whole healthy eating thing out. Having kids really made me think about what we put into our bodies and how it affects us.

You are what you eat, remember?

Anyway, I wanted to sit down and write a post about what we eat and why, but it turned out to be harder than I thought. It will probably take me couple days to gather my thoughts to write a post like that. So today I wanted to share with you one of the healthiest things we eat every day that I strongly believe has a huge positive impact on my mind clarity and well-being.

Our Super Smoothie.

Don’t be fooled by the name – smoothie. It is not just a smoothie. It can serve as a complete meal replacement with all the protein, fats and everything else you need. And if you don’t believe that smoothie can have an impact on your mind clarity, you just try it and see for yourself.

Anyway, without further adieu.

The Super Smoothie Recipe:

Large handful of kale, spinach and/or any other green leafy stuff you have in the refrigerator

Avocado  – half or whole

1 Banana

Large handful of any kind of berries – frozen or not. I buy frozen organic berry blend that includes raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries. The more colors you have in your smoothie, the more antioxidants you’ll get.

Hemp Seed– 2 Tbsp

Flax seed (make sure it is raw, not roasted) – 2 Tbsp

Almond Butter – 1 Tbsp. Make sure it is raw and unsalted without anything added to it. I get this at Trader Joe’s and it is way less expensive than at any other stores I’ve seen.

Pepitas  – Again make sure they are raw. Here are the ones I buy at Trader Joe’s as well.

You can throw some nuts too like cashews or walnuts. Don’t put too much though, couple nuts would be enough.

Raw Coconut Butter – 1 Tbsp
Raw Cacao Powder– 1 Tbsp

And I saved the best for last.

These four jars make my smoothies really mean.

Honestly, this stuff is the bomb.

Healthforce Vitamineral Green

Vitamineral Earth

These two have all the nutrients you need and from what I’ve tried these are the best superfoods blend out there.  I feel so much more clarity and focus after I started adding them to my smoothies.

I also add Maca that you see on the picture.

And Truly Natural Vitamin C which is actually a food based vitamin C.

They are pricey, but so worth it. You don’t  need all four, you can start with one. I would recommend to get Healthforce Vitamineral Green if you have to choose which one. You can get them in smaller sizes too if you want to try and see for yourself first. You need about one tablespoon of each.

Finally, I add either coconut milk, coconut water or just water.

Blend. Enjoy.
